SEE

One
Look and see.
Two
Open your mind's eye to see.
Three
Pay attention to see.

I love "Search and Find" puzzles.  I especially like the "traditional" puzzle books where you have to actually circle the words you find.  This "traditional" method might seem boring, slow and methodical compared to all the new high-tech online "Search and Find" game Apps, yet I find it helps me appreciate how I see in a meaningful way.

For example, I was getting frustrated when it was taking too long to see a word I knew was in a puzzle (it had to be). As it turns out I had not looked at the word correctly and therefore could not see it (would never find it) in that puzzle.   I was reminded again of how paying attention, really does help see things you might otherwise not see.

The physical eye is an immeasurable asset for living an independent life with a feeling of freedom.  Our sight is precious and yet we sometimes overlook the gift. Sometimes we watch TV, movies and other media that literally assaults our eyes, but we don't look away.
Or we may spend too much time staring at the screen of our computer; leaving no time to connect with family, community or self.  Then, there are those times we watch conditions in the world that we know need changing; our contribution or our voice, but instead we just stand by and watch.  Alternatively, these are the times we need to open our eyes and see.

We also have the gift to see with the mind's eye; the third eye.  From the mind's eye we can look beyond the physical realm to see from a higher consciousness.  The mind's eye which can be opened with practices like therapy, meditation and mindfulness.  In mindfulness you pay attention and focusing on breathing which opens awareness, insights, and the awakening to "look here" to see and appreciate the importance of the present moment.
